Are the accommodations close to the school?
We have carefully selected local Mexican host families who are located within no more than 30 minutes walking from the school or 15 minutes by bus.
What is your Cancellations Policy?
Cancellations can take place if made a week prior to starting your classes.
In case full payment has already been made, it will be taken as an open credit for future classes.
NO REFUND WILL BE MADE.
Can someone pick me up at the airport?
Yes! We organize airport pick-ups upon request. Just make sure you request it by the time you register and send us your flight details at least one week prior to arrival.
A member of SEC's staff will be waiting for you at the arrivals at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it :).
The transportation costs 33 USD.
How do I know my Spanish level?
After making your registration for your Spanish course at Spanish Experience Center, we will send you a link to a placement test which our teachers will carefully analyze. You will receive a confirmation and your level a few days afterwards.
Moreover, on your first day at the school you will be taking an written and spoken evaluation, in order for you to be placed in the class that best matches your level.
How many levels are available year round?
We offer classes for 3 different Spanish levels: basic, intermediate / advanced and superior. These levels are divided into 40 different sub-categories in order to meet the needs of every single students.
All Spanish Levels are available all year long.
How many weeks should I study Spanish at Spanish Experience Center?
If you are starting from zero, we recommend you take a minimum of 4 weeks of classes, in order for you to receive the first contact with the language and the necessary basic elements to start developing your Spanish skills.
If you are looking to reach a higher level and want to have the confidence and the sufficient structure to be able to understand and maintain a conversation in situations of daily life you should study from 8 to 12 weeks.
May I receive university credits?
Currently we do not have the possibility to valid credits for your university. However, we are working on an internship program with the University UNIVA, and through this program you can get all the paperworks you need to submit the credit request to your home university. Please contact us for more details.
Should I bring any material to class?
Please just bring a notebook and pen.
What can I do after classes?
Puerto Vallarta offers a huge variety of activities to do all year long. From laying on the beach to going to the theatre, through canopy and whale watching, you will never go out of things to do, no matter how long you stay with us. What kind of clothes should I pack?
We are very lucky in Puerto Vallarta as the climate is very pleasant all year long. During the winter the temperature rarely drops below 15°C (59°F) at night, so you might want to take a jacket in case you get a little cold on the Malecon (boardwalk) with the ocean breeze. During the day the temperature usually is around 30°C (86°F).
In the summer comes the rainy season and with it, the temperature can rise up to 40°C (104°F) during the day, and it can become very humid, so all you will need it light clothes, that will allow your body to breathe.
All year long, make sure you don't forget your sunglasses, your flip flops and your bathing suit! You can purchase all kind of sunblock in almost all Vallarta stores, as well as insect repellent.
What payment options are available?
The registration and tuition can be paid in cash, credit card or traveler checks.
If you select a Mexican Host Family, the payment will be made to the school and must be made in cash (US dollars or Mexican Pesos).

Mexico and you will have the chance to practice your Spanish on a daily basis and apply what you have learned in class to day-to-day life.
